About this deal
The enclosed steel frame around the top edge of the mould holds it rigid, so it’s easy to get in and out of the oven and move from countertop to cooker to cooling rack without wobbling around the way unreinforced silicone can.
With this in mind, knowing that it would be just perfect for more delicate specialities and individual desserts, we decided to put together a comprehensive range of silicone bakeware to cater for every kind of little treat. And, as if all the practical benefits weren't enough, take a look at our bright and breezy colours - who says kitchenware has to be dull? Our Silicone Doughnut Mould offers three different classic ring doughnut designs to bake and decorate with all your favourite toppings. There were no instructions/recipe guide in the box but found the recipe for the 6 egg cake in the Recipe section.
If you're not 'in the know' yet, here's why silicone gets our vote; it conducts heat better than metal so cakes cook quicker and more evenly, and being amazingly non-stick, even the most delicate, complicated shapes pop out with ease. This silicone mould sounds like a good idea but I found it quite tricky - my rings came out a distinctly wonky shape which is fine for at home I suppose but not if you want to impress.
With this fun silicone mould you can make a giant doughnut-shaped cake, ideal for children’s parties or birthdays; decorated with sprinkles or icing, it’ll look just like the real thing.Although it is a large batch recipe it did not fill each section so I had to cut bits off to make them flat and I bake a lot of cakes, this recipe is so dense its sickly!
