About this deal

Another sacrifice has been made for the S10e's lower price and it's the fingerprint reader - unlike the ultrasonic under-display modules of its more expensive brothers, this one has it in the power button on the side, just like the Galaxy A7 (2018).

The Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus is powerful enough to compete with today’s best gaming phones, and that means it has top-of-the-line specs inside. In the US, it has ships with Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 855 chip, while in most other places around the world it features Samsung’s own Exynos 9820 chip. The S10 Plus release date was March 8 2019, and it cost more than its predecessor at launch, the S9 Plus, although you can now find both phones on sale for a bit cheaper now that its successor has debuted.

Aside from the added 3D depth-sensing lens, the Galaxy S10 5G’s photographic capabilities also remain largely unchanged. The rear camera array is comprised of a 12-megapixel unit with dual-aperture (f/1.5 or f/2.4), a 12-megapixel, f/2.4 2x telephoto zoom camera and a new ultra-wide-angle 16-megapixel, f/2.2 camera.

The Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus is the best 2019 Samsung phone

If you want that latest screen, processor, Wi-Fi 6, and a nifty, better-located fingerprint scanner, meanwhile, there's the S10e. With a trade-in, the S10e is even cheaper than the S9 right now. And, of course, we have 5G coming around the corner. The upcoming Galaxy S10 5G will be an early adopter phone with limited network support. But next year's Galaxy S11 will likely be based on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 865, a 5G integrated chipset with support for both high-speed and broad-coverage 5G networks. That's the kind of shift that happens once every decade, not every year.

So the fingerprint sensor isn't a deal breaker, but it also isn't necessarily a usability advance. Processor, Software, and Performance Three's 5G collection includes the OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro, Huawei Mate Xs, Huawei P40 Pro, Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus, Samsung Galaxy S10 5G, Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra, Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus, Samsung Galaxy S20, Samsung Galaxy A90 5G and the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G. On a similar note, the phone’s performance is equally impressive. Samsung’s homebrew Exynos 9820 processor is as fast as they come, largely matching the benchmarking results of its rivals such as the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G and Huawei Mate 20 X 5G. There's a similar segmentation with display sizes - the S10 5G is the largest at 6.7 inches in diagonal, with screens going down in size in each other of the other three. All of them are Infinity-O displays (punch holes for the front cameras), all of them are Dynamic AMOLED (where'd the 'Super' go?), and all of them are HDR10 capable. Only the Galaxy S10e's panel is flat and of 1080p resolution, the rest have curved edges and 1440p resolution. The Galaxy S10+'s Vivid display mode is similar to the Note 9's Adaptive, and the Note 9's Cinema display mode seems a little more accurate than the S10+'s Natural. Both phones are a bit more color accurate than the iPhone XS Max with TrueTone on. Fingerprint SensorPredictably, the results are fantastic. Colour rendition is practically perfect and the cameras manage to strike the right balance of noise suppression and detail capture. Video is also top-notch with buttery-smooth 4K resolution capture at 60fps.
