About this deal

The ending was perfect and I'm happy that now Kennedy can fulfill her own dream and now they have become this perfect beautiful and adorable family that were always supposed to be.

Her honesty, boldness and innocence will kill you because her words and logic will nail you in the head and heart.

The angst and the healing journey they had, the 'rebuilding of the trust's moments and the promise to forever by the end—perfection itself. Ghosted is told in split present-day first-person alternating chapters between the two lead characters – Kennedy and Jonathan – and second-person chapters detailing their past.

She's been shattered, she's been cast aside, she was left to build a life for herself, for her child, all alone without the help of the father and the man she loved while he partied in all ways possible. M. is obsessed with books, music, Star Wars, and all things Marvel, especially the glorious Sebastian Stan. The contrast she’s construed in terms of her upbringing, traits and surroundings with Jonathan’s is nothing less than perfectly imperfect. Kennedy is a single mother and Jonathan is a movie star and except of their daughter they don’t seem to have anything in common. He's a man that knows that if she gives him just one more chance, though he doesn't deserve it, he won't squander it, and he'll do anything to convince her that he's worth the risk.

How they met, how they became friends, how they fell in love, how they ran away, how they spent their years together and how they fell apart were all there. As their story unfolds the book goes back and forth between present day and the past giving the reader glimpses into their love story. One thing that hurt me most in this book was that Kennedy choose Jonathan over her own dreams and he choose drugs, alcohol because he was tired of his life. Jonathan and Kennedy have my heart, and the situation they find themselves in was even more heartbreaking. The cadence and the movement of her words pierce the reader’s heart time and time again, creating an almost poetic rhythm to the prose that mirrors the message of those words, but it is with repetition of certain phrases that the author underscores the crucial moments in the story, playing our heartstrings like a true maestro.I stand here for a moment before the door cracks open again, her head peeking out as she whispers, “You gots to knock. Her prose is beautiful and lyric, evoking different reactions in the reader by simply changing sentence structures or shifting points of view, and her consistent use of present tense makes us live this story and feel deeply the sting of these characters’ emotions. Every detail however minute, has relevance in a love story that ticked every box that I look for in Darhower’s quintessential storytelling. I will say it took me a while to come around to them as a couple because I was really mad about everything that happened, I would’ve liked a bit more groveling.

they both run away at 17/18 and go all the way to hollywood for johnny to pursue his dream of being an actor. Up until then, I only saw your anger, but that day I saw your fear, like you were afraid of how much more pain I was going to cause you, when I wanted nothing more than to make it all better. A very special little person who calms troubled waters so unknowingly, whose innocence had me on my knees, who makes makes this couple’s journey possible, strung my emotions in a knot, put me back together and left a huge smile on my face! Through the pages of that notebook, I felt her adoration, devotion and various emotions that she invested towards her relationship with Jonathan.

I don’t know what it was about this book but as soon as I opened up that first page, and started reading I was hooked, this author just has a way with words, a unique storyline that grabs you by the throat and doesn’t let go until you’ve inhaled that very last page.
