About this deal

adapter, a Type-C to Type-A USB cable (45cm), a metal plate, an aluminum sticker, a screwdriver, and mounting screws. This drive should be fast enough to reveal the full capabilities of the bridge chip / enclosure without being held back by too much. card that I'd love to put into a USB dongle thingy to have one that's definitely compatible with Linux. yes I can't drive them at full potential, but investing money in storage, always believe in investing in biggest/fastest I can afford, then I can reuse them down the line if I change my mind.

That said, without more/faster PCIe lanes between the USB controller and the SoC (which would require changes to the SoC) performance won't be any better. Turns the SSDs into portable external digital wallets to back up irreplaceable data, offload huge files from old laptops, and move all files from one USB-C device to another.Transcend also offers the microSDXC 460I with wide temperature (-40℃ ~ 85℃) capabilities to ensure sustained functionality and optimal reliability. NVMe SSD as the boot drive in my Windows laptop, and it screams (boots Windows 10 in less than 10 seconds), and it's far from the fastest out now (it was the fastest when I bought it a few years back). While the USB 2 + Ethernet hub on the first three generations of Pi is external to the SoC, the root for that hub is part of the SoC (and, for that matter, is present on the BCM2711 for the Pi4B, as well).

With the enclosure shared above, and some Noctua fans being it blowing air over all the Pi's I think I'll be ok. If you cannot find an uninitialized drive in Disk Management, skip the following steps and try to partition your device. I have the same question as OP, but for slightly different reasons: I'm looking for combo WiFi+BT, and ones available are usually USB nano, which are terrible range-and-obstacle wise. gen 2 (IIRC gen 1 is no faster) controller more and/or faster PCIe lanes would be required (as I hinted at above). The advanced RTL9210B chip supports automatic sleep mode, activating 15 minutes after reading and writing cease.Having a PSU that can provide more than 3A to the 4B won't raise that limit but having one that provides less or having other power hungry devices connected ia GPIO will reduce it.
